Abandofbrothers is a very different sort of youth programme. We are looking for mentors who can really be there for younger men who may be experiencing difficulties.
Many of us as men know the difficulties of really knowing who we are and what we want from life; we know how difficult it can be to face shame and regret for things that have happened. We also know how difficult it is to “be your own man” when faced with so many influences.
Young men today face a real challenge and struggle. If you feel moved to want to support one of those men, and find out more about yourself in the process, then perhaps abandofbrothers could be for you.
The first stage of getting involved is to attend an intro evening. At the evening you will get the opportunity to:
Find out what you can expect from us in terms of training and support
Find out what we expect of you in terms of time commitment and ways of working
Hear from exisiting members of the abob community about their experience and get a chance to ask questions
At the end of the evening, make an informed choice about whether abob is for you and whether you can realistically commit
The next evening is:
Dates: Wednesday 15th January
Venue: Community Wise Centre, Ocklynge Road, Eastbourne BN21 1PY
Time: 6:30pm to 9:00pm

The next stage would be to invite you to attend the Beyond the Hero training from 6pm Friday 24th January to 3pm Sunday 26th. If you are reasonably sure that you want to join, it may be worth putting the date in your diary now. If you are not able to make that date but want to find out more then please feel free to come also – there are some opportunities to contribute that do not require you to have done the weekend.
